STEP UP YOUTH PROGRAM


Step Up is a Youth Employment and Training Program providing vocational services throughout Santa Clara County from within the work2future One-Stop system. This comprehensive program is designed to help 17-21 year-old out-of-school youth secure meaningful employment through a combination of intensive case management, training services, educational programs and supportive services. Once enrolled in Step Up, participants will have access to a wide range of custom services geared towards assisting Silicon Valley's youth gain employment, complete a training program, complete their GED or High School diploma, and/or enter into college. With offices in San Jose and Gilroy, Step Up participants have easy access to a wide range of services.

Participants in Step Up have access to the following services:

Step Up youth are able to evaluate their work readiness skills through the ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate. By becoming certified, youth are able to demonstrate to employers that they have the skills required to be successfully employed in specific industries and occupations. Step Up also offers online remediation through WinSolutions which allows youth the opportunity to take lessons online, which will lead to a higher certification level. Step Up offers a computer lab for youth without internet access to assist in finding employment.
